The Telegraph is reporting that the government is preparing to cave in on the Lords’ proposals, which would prevent fans from re-selling their tickets. The paper says that:
“Those selling tickets will in future be forced to provide details of the seat number and location and face value when they re-sell them online. The event organisers will be entitled to cancel the tickets in they are sold for a higher amount than they were originally bought“.
In fact, the reality is even worse: fans will not be able to sell their tickets at all – not even at the same price or lower. Instead, all the power will be in event organisers’ hands.
It is not too late to push back against this. Please contact the forty Lords who previously supported this terrible piece of legislation, and tell them how badly it will affect ordinary fans.
