Chris Bryant, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, has said that people who sell tickets for live events are “parasitical rip-off merchants”. In our opinion, this is highly mistaken, and categorises anyone who wishes to sell a ticket as a ticket-tout.
By jumping on a bandwagon being pushed by event organisers, Chris Bryant is showing his lack of understanding of the issue. We are calling on all supporters of Fan Freedom to tweet at Chris Bryant, asking him if he considers them “parasites” just for selling a ticket to an event they can no longer make.
We believe that the government will publish a review of the ticket market shortly, and we will be letting you know all the ways you can get involved to ensure that your consumer rights are protected.
